Better With…real relationships

April 3, 2012 Leave a comment

Imagine if you will, our own motley crew coming packing into one or two cars to your company. The Bacon group, in the flesh. Baring gifts and a endless amount of enthusiasm….

This year, we have been doing team visits to our clients, especially new clients, so that everyone (from recruiters to sources) gets to meet the company, their hiring managers, and their technical team. We’ve always had a good relationship with our clients, but in the past it was usually through one or two members of our team. We decided to do more team visits as a manifestation one of our fundamental ideas on how we do business: truly working with companies and resources as part of a team to match the best resource with the most fitting position. We are all on the same level and we are all working together towards the same goal. So naturally, we should all know get cozy, right?

It’s important for us to do this for many reasons. Everyone gets to personally see the offices where a resource could potentially work, we get to meet the team, and we can talk candidly to the hiring manager about his/her expectations, managerial style, and the open positions.  Our team is better equipped to more honestly advocate for the company and their team, as well as give a more in-depth description of the job requirements (such as, sing-alongs on Fridays or siestas at 2pm every day). To tell you, the candidate, why you would like working with their team.  Plus, one of our favorite parts of client visits is seeing resources we’ve already placed enjoying their new job!

But we don’t stop there, we like to personally meet our candidates as well. Besides, an excuse to show off our Batter 621 offices, it’s an opportunity for both of us to put a face to to the people who we have been communicating with. Resources can about their skills, their goals, and their lives; where they want to be, what they’re looking for, and how we can help them. Sure, we communicate a lot through phone and email, but there is something different about just getting to hang out with our resources and get to know them. More than once, after a great meeting with a talented person we have gone back to encourage a company meet them as well. With a strong relationship with both candidates and companies, we can be the best matchmakers possible.

It’s a little more effort on our part, but it’s completely worth it for all of us. It’s fulfilling for us to help candidates and companies complete their teams…to help someone find a job and to make someone else’s job easier. We love with we do.

Do you really want to know what love is?  It’s the way we feel for our local LAMP stack developer candidates.  We want you to feel the love … if you don’t feel it, email me.  It’s time for us to take this relationship to new heights.

PHP, Perl, it doesn’t matter – what I love is the whole package, my sweet, sweet LAMP stack developer.

BWBacon Young Recruiter Program

Today we piloted our cutting-edge, industry-leading Young Recruiter program.  Shown here, our young recruiter-in-training (my very lovely 15 month-old niece, Nehema), read up on technology trends while under the watchful tutelage of Dave.

Our cold-calling module was a little bit bumpy, but by the end of the day Nehema had an expert command of the terms “Ruby on Rails” and “Regression Testing.”  Plus, who needs real skills when you’ve got a face like that?

Some call it babysitting; we call it anticipatory competency-development.

Movin’ On Up: BWBacon Gets New Digs!

We are extremely pleased to announce that, as of 6/15/2011, BWBacon are the newest tenants in Denver’s illest creative collaborative community, Battery621, located at 621 Kalamath Street in the Santa Fe Art District.

Battery621 is much more than a building; it is an entirely new way of looking at business partnerships, social outreach, environmental sustainability and engaging clients with products and services. We look at every vendor and client in a complete circle of thinking and brand strategies. We have a tenant tell is that on their first day of doing business in Battery621 another tenant connected them with a new job. The unique mix of clients has been formed to create synergies for not only the companies within but for all of the stakeholders in 621. Under one roof we are able to do everything from ideation of brand building initiatives to product photography, TV commercials, fabrication and full international PR campaigns. While we are proud of our tenant partners we also understand this is merely the tip of the iceberg in pursuing our founding principal of 1+1=3. We are focused on finding new partners and creating something larger than either could do solely.

In the short time that Battery621 has been open, we’ve have seen new tenants come on board and have gotten close to a hanging a “no vacancy” sign. Existing tenants have expanded and grabbed more space, while continuously looking for outside companies looking for creative ways to partner up. Battery621 will strive to continuously improve the business and social environment of the building. We will also look to increase the energy of the building by bringing a diverse mix of events, art installations and business meetings. The goal always has been and will be to create the best business environment but encouraging creativity while understanding that this can only happen when our stake-holders quality of life has been improved. Business should be fun. We are having a LOT OF FUN.”

Reach out to schedule a time to come check out the new BWBacon space, and to experience something truly unique in the way companies are coming together for collaboration and community.  We’re in good company – other “tenants” include:

The Public Works

Wink Inc.

Icelantic

Spyder

Something Independent

CondorCam

Drumbeat

Company Be

Artists Creative Agency

5280 Agency

Business Card or Scent Tester Strip?

The advent of a number of bacon-scented sprays has blurred the lines between traditional business card and scent tester strip.  BWBacon Group is pushing the envelope by eliminating any ambiguity, with our all new bacon-scented business cards.

Of course, in order to catch a whiff, you’ll have to shake hands and bring the charm – they don’t come easy, and are not recommended for the faint of heart.

Disclaimer:  possessing one of our cards will make you hungry to work with BWBacon Group.

I wish I was kidding.  We love recruiting like JoJo Cookin’ loves Fridays.

Vegan Ipsum, Minor Interesting Quam Bacon

My Latin is old and moldy, but you get the idea.

While bacon is certainly our prime mover here at BWBacon Group, we thought it only fair and prudent to provide a follow-up to last week’s Bacon Ipsum post, with a link to a complementary site for the herbivores in the house, Vegan Ipsum.

Lentils, grains and legumes are an empirically less compelling filler than prime rib and tenderloin, but it all goes to the same place.

Enjoy, friends!
