DIY Bacon!

Bacon: the perfect answer to the timeless Father’s Day dilemma.  Remember how much dad pretended to like your homemade gifts when you were little?  Now, imagine that enthusiasm is sincere.  Now it can be, friends.

The clock is ticking – curing your own bacon takes around seven days, start-to-finish.  So turn off the Playstation (you’re thirty-two years old, man!), head to the butcher shop and get your pork belly on.  Then follow these directions, so kindly prepared by our neighbors to the great white north, The Canadian Press.

Just consider all the vices dad has had to give up through the years, and spare him the peerless pleasure of grease-fried, cholesterol-laden, home-cured bacon, courtesy of his favorite progeny.  Really want to garner dad’s favor this year?  Forget the wrapping paper and enlist the help of the neighbor lady to showcase the fruits of your labor!
